Drawing on letters written by Inuit patients in Indian hospitals and their kin, the author challenges the assumption that Canada's program to treat Indigenous patients with TB in Indian Hospitals is based on narratives of population health, benevolence, and care. The letters highlight the harmful effects of segregation and long-term detainment of Inuit away from their communities and showcase their resistance to Indian Hospital treatment.
