This thesis aimed to determine the prevalence of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) among First Nations school-aged children. The study consisted of four parts: a maternal interview about family dynamics, pregnancy, family histories, and alcohol use during pregnancy; dysmorphology assessment by a clinical geneticist; review of child's birth records; and psychoeducational testing by a trained retired teacher.
