Past mining activities have resulted in a toxic legacy of arsenic in Yellowknife and surrounding areas. In this thesis, the author examines two different biomarkers of arsenic and discusses how they can be used to evaluate arsenic exposure and associated health effects on First Nations and non-Indigenous children and adults in the Yellowknife area.
