This article aims to enhance understanding about the mechanisms by which and the factors that influence DNA methylation patterns that increase risk of breast cancer among Greenlandic Inuit women, including environmental exposure to persistent organic pollutants. Findings suggest that breast cancer risk and POPs may alter the risk of breast cancer through changes in methylation levels.
