Department of Health and Social Services
Developed in collaboration between the Government of the Northwest Territories and non-governmental organizations, this document provides a framework for ensuring that persons with disability engage as full citizens. The Framework establishes four interconnected goals: person and family-centred; inclusion and accessibility; awareness, education and training; and coordination, evaluation and reporting. Culturally competent and safe care is a key aspect of the framework’s first goal, providing person and family-centred care.
