This environmental scan aims to enhance understanding about current cancer pathways for First Nations reserves across Canada, and identify promising and leading practices and models of cancer care that are culturally responsive and safe for First Nations. The report was informed by a literature review, a survey of First Nations community health managers and providers, a survey of cancer control organizations, and key informant interviews. The purpose of the scan is to inform the development of a cancer control strategy for First Nations in rural, remote or isolated communities.
