This article highlights shortcomings in using cultural competency, cultural appropriateness, and cultural sensitivity approaches in injury prevention initiatives. The authors argue that a cultural safety approach has the potential to overcome these shortcomings and lead to more effective and socially just injury prevention initiatives.
