This guide raises awareness of discrimination, racism, dehumanizing interactions, and a loss of autonomy in the healthcare system experienced by Indigenous women in the perinatal period of pregnancy in British Columbia. The guide presents the 'Four R's Framework' and outlines six key principles for healthcare providers to adopt to provide culturally safe, humble, and trauma-informed perinatal care.
