The authors present a case study of an Inuit approach to sustainability. The Sakkijânginnatuk Nunalik (Sustainable Communities Initiative) aims to ensure individual and community sustainability in the face of changing environmental, social, and economic conditions. The authors discuss preliminary successes and challenges of the initiative and how such approaches can contribute to sustainability research and concepts.
