Studies have shown that persistant organic pollutants (POPs) are risk factors for the development of obesity-related metabolic diseases like diabetes. This study presents findings from an investigation of the cross-sectional association between serum concentrations of POPs and markers of diabetes risk among non-diabetic Inuit adults living in Canada, drawing from data collected by the International Polar Year Inuit Health Survey (2007-2008).
