The author explores examples of environmental policies and practices that disproportionately impact Indigenous and Black communities in Canada, which she argues are examples of environmental racism. She discusses ways of addressing environmental racism, including through government policy and grassroots initiatives, and argues that the right to a healthy environment should be encoded in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms as the best option for making meaningful social change.
